Joy has been practicing yoga for 13 years, but feels as though she was born doing it. She took her very first class in Bridgewater, NS and was hooked. Since that time Joy has always had yoga in her life. After graduation from Dalhousie University with a Sociology degree Joy devoted herself to working with people with disabilites. Yoga has given Joy the tools of self-care to be truly able to excell in these non-profit organizations and to help others. Joy began teaching yoga 8 years ago to adults with mental illness and such began the transition from student to teacher. While Joy will, of course, always be a student of yoga, she began to see the immense benefits others experienced with yoga as well. Joy completed the 200 hour certification course & studied with some of the world's most inspiring teachers. Joy's thirst for yoga only continues to grow as she settles back in to Truro, the town where she was raised. She is delighted to create Joyful Yoga Studio and share the health and wellness within her community. Her compassion, creativity and enthusiasm shine throughout her classes and studio space.
